Our Top Five Christmas Movies

Everyone has their favorite Christmas movies and we here at Custom Designs by Jed are included in that group of people! As we near the big day, we know that some people dread the 24 hour marathons of Christmas favorites that some networks play. We’re looking at you 24 hours of the Christmas Story!

Now our list is just that, our list of favorite Christmas movies. It does not imply that if your favorite movies aren’t as good as ours. It really is just our faves. With that being said on with the list!

1. How The Grinch stole Christmas

We grew up watching the original animated Grinch cartoon movie but when this movie came out, it was instantly replaced with this updated version. Jim Careys Grinch was amazing and so true to the character that we fell in love with it. The rest of the cast was also great as was the background set. It honestly was all done so well, you could believe that it was a true story and not just a movie. To this day this movie is one of the few Christmas movies that we will watch when its on tv.

2. Elf

Who doesn’t love Will Ferells iconic role of Buddy the Elf? His adventures in NYC are hilarious and the story is so good that it can stand alone as a movie and not just a Christmas movie. The cast was great, the story was great, and the comedic moments are top notch. Instant Christmas classic.

3. White Christmas

This movie has it all: top tier acting, dynamite singing, great singing, and a heart warming story! While not as fast paced as modern movies this classic shines and is a great movie to toss on during the holiday season. The cast is all likeable and the tunes are definitely catchy, what else could you ask for in a Christmas movie.

4. Love Actually

This movie has so many characters and plots going on all at the same time that you’d think it would be too much but it manages to pull it all together and entertain. Each plot has characters that pull you in to their story and how everyone is connected at the end leaves you so satisfied. On top of the amazing cast it manages to fit in a great cameo by the amazing Rowan Atkinson. Love really is all around us.

5. Die Hard

Yes we said it. Die Hard is a Christmas movie and we will fight anyone who says otherwise! It is set around the holidays, features Christmas music, a holiday party, someone dressed as Santa, and a happy ending with family reunited! Sure it has guns and violence but that doesn’t take away from the fact that this is a Christmas movie. No notes.

And with that we conclude our list of OUR top five Christmas movies! We know some people may disagree but hey with so many Christmas movie options out there, we fell that there won’t ever be a universally accepted top five. Let us know if you agree with any of our top five or if there are some movies we should have had on our list!

Happy Holidays everyone!
